Lorien Mays Chapel is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team! Job Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Maryland RN license in good standing 
  • Must have a kind, patient and empathetic personality as well as a commitment to providing patients with the best possible care 
  •  Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and the willingness to help where and when it is needed 
  • Must display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Must have the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public 
  • Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the standards of the Company’s Code of Conduct and appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in order to communicate with residents and understand their requests.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. 
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies to follow through with resident requests and use this information for evaluation of the situation.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include medical and physical examinations.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds while using proper body mechanics. 
  • Must be able to lift and transfer residents, supporting body weight, and be able to prevent injury to resident, self, and others. 
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
